Log in with Google and Apple accounts

This section explains how to register and log in using your Google Account or Apple Account.

You can create a SocialDog Account or log in using "Log in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple".

Overview​

By linking your SocialDog Account with your Google Account or Apple Account in advance, you will be able to log in to SocialDog using your Google Account or Apple Account.

tip

When logging in with a Google or Apple Account, SocialDog's Two-factor authentication does not apply. To enhance Security, please set up Two-factor authentication on your Google or Apple Account.

Registering with a Google Account or Apple Account (Creating a new SocialDog Account)​

  1. Open Create Account.
  2. Click "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple", and authenticate on the respective authentication screen.
tip

If you register with a Google Account or Apple Account, those Accounts will be automatically linked with your SocialDog Account.

Linking a Google Account or Apple Account to your SocialDog Account​

To log in with a Google Account or Apple Account, you need to be logged into SocialDog and link your Google Account or Apple Account.

  1. Open [Account settings] → [Security].
  2. In the Google or Apple section, click [Link].
  3. Select the Account you want to use for login. Authenticate on the respective authentication screen.
  4. Once completed, "[Linked]" will be displayed, and you will be able to log in with your Google or Apple Account.

Logging in with a Google Account or Apple Account​

  1. Open the Login screen.
  2. Click "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple", and authenticate on the respective authentication screen.

Unlinking your Google Account or Apple Account​

  1. Open [Account settings] → [Security].
  2. In the Google or Apple section, click [Unlink].
tip

If no Password is set, you cannot Unlink All Google and Apple connections. If you wish to Unlink All connections, please set a Password beforehand.

Changing your Linked Google Account or Apple Account​

  1. Open [Account settings] → [Security].
  2. In the Google or Apple section, click [Unlink].
  3. In the Google or Apple section, click [Link].
  4. Select the Account you want to use for login. Authenticate on the respective authentication screen.
  5. Once completed, "[Linked]" will be displayed, and you will be able to log in with your Google or Apple Account.

Google One Tap (Automatic Login)​

Google's One Tap login may be displayed depending on your browser's state.

In this case, you can log in with a single click by selecting your Google Account.

Hide My Email with Apple​

If you select "Hide My Email" with your Apple Account, an email address like (random string)@privaterelay.appleid.com may be registered.

Emails sent to this address are forwarded to your actual email address via Apple. If you are not receiving emails, please check Apple's forwarding settings or rejection settings.

If "This Apple Account cannot be registered." is displayed​

If you cancel the new registration of a SocialDog Account with an Apple Account, you must Unlink SocialDog from your Apple Account on Apple Account to use the same Apple Account.

  1. Open [Apple Account Sign-in and Security] in your Apple Account.
  2. Click [Sign in with Apple].
  3. Click [SocialDog].
  4. Select [Stop Using "Sign in with Apple"] and click [Stop Using].
  5. Once completed, you will be able to register again using the same Apple Account from Register.

If "Identity verification could not be completed. Please try again." is displayed when logging in to your Apple Account​

Login may be restricted because you performed login operations in a short period. Please wait for a while and try linking again.
